Do you ever wonder how you will manage to acquire all of the pricey sex toys and various pieces of equipment you need to have a quality BDSM experience?  Worry not! Unlike some kinds of sex toys, here are less expensive and even DIY alternatives to these sex toys. You just have to be creative, shop for bargains and make use of what you already have.

 

More Restraints!

Not quite ready for ropes or chains?  That’s okay. Maybe try something softer for a bit of a tamer kind of sex game. Consider using scarves that you already have or from the clothing department of a discount store as bondage restraints.  Ideally, they will have sexy colors like black or red to choose from. Although these are pretty safe, some scarves will form a tight knot that’s difficult to untie. Make sure to have those safety shears I know you bought nearby. As a bonus, scarves can be used as a blindfold or gag as well.

Very important! – get medical scissors.  You’ll need to purchase them elsewhere but they’re pretty cheap and you need them for safety reasons if you’re playing with rope or fabric restraints. 

 

Spanking Sex toys

Meanwhile, back at the dollar store, while you’re in the hair care aisle you just may find the perfect sized paddle brush to meet your spanking needs. If not, check out the kitchen gadget section.  Look for acrylic cutting boards with handles, hard nylon spatulas and wooden spoons. Also look for rulers, yardsticks, and ping pong paddles. All of these make excellent sex toys!

And I don’t know about you, but I can’t tell the difference between a tracing wheel from the fabric store and a Wartenberg wheel that’s sold as a medical device and BDSM sex toy.

Whips and Floggers

These things are expensive, you guys! This is a good time to bring out your crafty/DIY side and just make your own!  You can make a flogger out of duct tape or paracord.  And you can even make a homemade bullwhip.

And during your trip to the home improvement store, don’t forget to pick up some paint stirrers – they might even be free! Also, look for wooden dowels. They are super cheap, come in lots of different widths and can be used kind of like a crop or a cane.  But be careful… if you hit hard enough with them they can break into several jagged pieces and go flying across the room. Guess how I know that…

Or, in the spirit of making do with what you already have, you can just take off your belt!
